What is Vitamin B7?
Vitamin B7, which is also known as biotin or vitamin H, is part of the B group of vitamins. Like all B vitamins, biotin is a vital part of a healthy metabolism and creating important enzymes. It is also essential for the nervous system to help it function properly. Biotin is a common ingredient in cosmetic products as it is well known for its ability to improve the condition of your hair, skin and nails. Biotin can be found in a number of food sources including eggs, liver, bananas, nuts, whole grain and chicken. Biotin can also be made in the small intestine. If you feel like you do not eat enough of these foods, deficiency can occur. In this case, supplementation may be necessary.
