What is Vitamin B6?
Vitamin B6, which is also referred to as pyridoxine, pyridoxamine, and pyridoxal, is one of eight essential B vitamins. Vitamins B6, like all B vitamins, plays an essential role in keeping your liver, skin, hair, and eyes healthy and is essential for the nervous system to help it function properly. Vitamin B6 is required for normal brain development and function. It also helps the body make the hormones serotonin and norepinephrine which helps to regulate the body clock. Vitamin B6 is present in many meats, milk, bananas and spinach. If you feel you may be deficient in vitamin B6, supplementation may be necessary.
