Nori is an extremely popular sea vegetable used in many Asian countries. It is a type of red algae seaweed which has been consumed in Asia for over a thousand years. It is mainly used in sushi dishes as it helps to hold the sushi roll together. Nori also helps to infuse the sushi rolls with a unique seaweed flavour which enhances the natural flavours of the dish. Many nutritional experts recommend Nori as a superfood as it contains several key vitamins in great quantities. It is rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, B12, and E. It also contains more vitamin C than oranges or apples. Vegans can particularly benefit from the inclusion of Nori in their diet as it is a rich source of B12 and contains 35% more protein than other sea vegetables.
